Winter Work Clothing - What Do You de facto Need?

If you and your staff are going to be exposed to the elements whilst at work this winter, then you'll want to stay warm and dry.

Here's what you need:

1. Work jackets are designed to be warm and yet still allow you to move your arms so that you can work. Look for zips and pockets that are easy to use with gloves on, and that genuinely will keep you warm.

2. Waterproof workwear is necessary for when it's wet as well as cold. Jackets and trousers are ready to make sure that you're well protected from the rain, and that you don't get cold. You still carry out your duties whilst staying dry, no matter that the weather.

3. Your winter work trousers might need to be more durable if you're spending a lot of time outside at this time of year. Perhaps you'll be kneeling on cold wet outdoor surfaces to carrying out maintenance tasks, or half way up a building carrying out vital repairs.

4. Fleeces are an ideal way to stay warm and dry and are exquisite for those days that aren't cold enough for a full winter work jacket, but are too cold for just a sweatshirt. You'll stay warm when you need to, without carrying much extra weight.

5. Base layers are necessary for those working outdoors while the colder months. If you're active, such as building a wall, or fixing a leak outdoors, then you'll soon build up a sweat. Having an appropriate base layer will help wick the sweat away from your skin, and stop you getting cold.

6. Sweatshirts are exquisite for when it gets a bit colder, or for an extra warming layer when it gets genuinely cold. Lightweight, and warm, they'll help to make sure that you don't feel the cold too much when the climatic characteristic drops.

7. Gloves are so genuinely overlooked, and citizen will often make do with the cheapest gloves they can find, or those that are bought from supermarkets or petrol stations. Having the right number of warmth, comfort and grip from your gloves is imperative so that you can do your job properly and safely.

8. Again, hats aren't always at the top of peoples work clothing lists. You'll probably know that around 1/3 of body escapes from the head, so you're bound to want to preserve as much if this heat as you can by wearing a hat.

9. Socks shouldn't be neglected either. You'll want to make sure that your feet stay warm and dry, and that you can feel your toes, anything the weather. Proper socks designed for extreme cold and wet conditions genuinely do make a difference, and will be invaluable if you do a lot of walking or spend a lot of time on your feet outside.

10. It's important to remember that you might need high visibility workwear too. Perhaps you'll select to wear a provocative coloured fleece or work jacket, or high visibility waterproofs.
